Since I don't have a racecar, I'll start a thread on my lackluster search.
Went looking with Brian yesterday. We went to look at a 96, but it was sold :( Then we checked out a 99, which was priced ok. It didn't have a torsen, it was read, and nothing spectacular.
Today I came accross a fairly inexpensive white one with quite a few miles. The price is decent, but it's got a nasty body kit and bigass chrome wheels yo! p1mp! Going to check it out tonight with Brian (my miata guru). If all goes well, it will be in my garage soon.
A hardtop (if it's still available) and some new wheels/tires will be taken care of this year. Suspension will be soon after. If all goes well, I'll be SC'ed by Summertime :)

Car was too rough :( F'ed up hood, trunk, and nose. Brian caught the uneven wheel gap on each side. The passenger front wheel stuck out further, the hood was replaced, yada yada.
Used car buying sucks anus!

ie 2nd gen RX7 with a V8? Julie wouldn't be too hip on a long term project like that...lack of garage space and patience don't help :(

are you looking just here in az? one will pop up that will be perfect, just a little patience. i'd skip any major project like an ls1 rx. your too impatient for something like that. :P

There is a decent miata in FL, but the logistics of the viewing and sale aren't worth it.

Well, the nissan has no car payment. A reliable paid off car is definitely worth keeping to me.
I'm thinking about buying some 13x8 Rota RBs and race rubber for it. I probably should piece together some power adders, I/H/E.

I'd imagine with winter coming Miata's will go up in price here, but if you shop where there is snow, they should be cheap. Also you could combine looking for it with a 9&3 ski/snowboard trip. All these Subarus have gotta be good for something. :)

The beetle was fun while it lasted. I just got back from selling it this afternoon.

Plus she found a guy willing to back out of his pre-ordered Solstice so it needs to go by Dec sometime.
