next issue of grass roots motorsports will have an extensive street tire test! looks interesting and they are using a modded spec v to do it.


Test performed on a Sentra Spec-V (don't know exact prep level, but I think it has springs/shocks/bars/wheels provided by sponsors)
All tires were shaved
Testing conditions including tire temps controlled very scientifically
Tire Rack's Chris Harvey and GRM's Per Schroeder as principal test drivers
The result was quote, "surprising"

I can probably get specifics on the car.

I am pretty sure I know the guy who owns the Spec V. :)

yeah i believe thats who it is......well setup car, custom camber plates etc?

STX prepped.

I think he has Koni's maybe some mild motor mods.

Pretty sure he isn't lowered as the car actually does well at stock height. I will send a PM or email.

Though he might have all that...

well the thread i got it from mentioned the spec had all that stuff....but this was from the subaru forum, so could be wrong :D

Yeah, I know he did something for Hankook that involved Azenis Hankook and Kumho...

I would be interested in finding out thr results, I was looking at the Hankook's (just because no one was running them) and either they were going to be an edge or a hindrance :?

Here's a teaser look at the results of the 225/45R17 Street Touring tire shootout...all of the tires were shaved to 4/32 and tested on a STX-prepared 2005 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V.

1) ???
2) Falken Azenis RT-215
3) ???
4) Hankook Z212
5) ???
6) BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD


see previous post at top for the other tires tested..i assume the azenis 615 won. probably yokos in 3rd and mx's in 5th seems to be the guesses so far. this info is straight from grm on the scca forum.
