Anyone have/had cabinets installed in their garage? i've been wanting to do it forever and i'd like to get it done soon..im also painting the floor with epoxy and i'd love to have a small sink put in. i, err we(ryan, ben) spend a good amount of time out there and i'd like it real organized and efficient for space. and so we can find tools  So, anyone know a good company in da valley?

My brother in law is just about to start a job at classy closets, I'm pretty sure he could swing a discount. He's LDS and just got back from his mission on saturday, so at the very least it's unlikely he'd screw you over :P

Look in one of those valupak envelopes you get in the mail. Should be able to find garage cabinets for like $500'ish.

Will you be able to put 2 cars in there if you do the cabinets? Or do you put 1 car on one side and a bike on the other?

As for the flooring...floor prep is everything. That stuff costs like up to $3 per sq ft. My neighbor quoted me $2/sq ft and my garage is like 20'x20'. 400 sqft * $2/sq ft = $800

I was going to pimp my garage but decided to finish flooring in my house. I am going to build a kickass rocking shed in my back yard. Somethign like 8x8 or 8x12 or maybe even 16x20...we'll see. Get all the crap out of my garage so I can put cars and necessary tools in there.

For storage now, I use those metal racks *$64'ish from lowes. I put crap in plastic bins and load them on the shelves. Good use of space!

yeah kev i know! i looked into someone painting the floor and it was in the $600 range....you can buy the kit from lowes for $100. only problem i see is that it takes 3-4 days to cure enough to put cars on it and thats a problem. i did find these really nice mats for $109 that will cover the whole floor and can be hosed down......right now im using those same metal shelves from lowes, and i have a 10x10 storage unit down the street. Let me know what you do about a shed because thats another thing i want....the people that built the house had one and they even had a concrete slab and walkway put down for it.
I've seen cabinets in the valupack in the $500 range from Neils i think it was....just curious of the quality. might be cheaper/stronger to stick with the metal shelves. i like stuff hidden though

We just sealed the floor at my house.
Not epoxy.

It makes a huge difference.
Oil spills come up with paper towel and a little Isopropynol.
And it aint that much :)

You could get those little tiles?
We could coordinate it with my underwear...

these are the mats i was talking about.....they list the 20x9 for $239. might be an option instead? http://www.autobarn.net/garfloorprot.html

yeah believe it or not, right now i have 2 big shelf units on one side w/2 mtn bikes hanging, a work bench on the other side, my dirt bike, 240, spec v and r6 all in the garage  jeep and wrx will stay outside, and as soon as the spec v is gone(why isnt it already!!!!) it will be the 240 and r6 only.

You don't even need a concrete pad for a shed! Check out http://www.thematlacks.com/shed/Shed.html

In fact, I've heard some locales/cities/states will consider a building with a concrete slab as part of your home's sq footage, which means higher property taxes. I went to lowes the other day, and they had some kickass sheds in the front by the garden center. Gave me a lot of ideas. After I research my homeowners association's CC&R's I wanna start busting out my shed ASAP.

waaaay back in my younger days I used to work for a shed company. The sheds they made were on skids so you could move them and they were off of the ground. They are pretty easy to make, kinda like building a house, lay the flooring joist across the skids, sheet it (plywood) build some walls, sheet em, roof it, we used the colored metal. most sheds took a day to build. you could probably get some plans from lowes/home depot, calculate the materials and see what it would run or see if they have "kits" available

i'll probably look into something this weekend and decide what route to take...just not a big fan of being outside in the heat unless its in the pool  although anything right around 100 or below doesnt bother me so much anymore.
