im surprised they picked the sti! that would be my choice too...my reasons: I need a 4 door with a 2 year old, i love awd and obviously the sti just flat outhandles the gto and keeps up with it in the straights. I did drive the earlier gto and really liked it, i imagine the 400hp one is super fun to drive.

Bah. STI for me also. But I love my suby now. AWD is the best

Oooooohhhh, I LOVE both of them! That's a tough call, I guess it boils down to who is buying it. The STI is fun nimble and exhilerating... the GTO is a monster, the handling isn't that bad, I drove one on a road course at the "Auto Salon in Motion" it was BY FAR the most fun car to drive there. I already have a WRX that is WAY faster then either of those, so I'd choose the GTO for the fun of RWD. I already have a AWD car, who needs two? And the smaller modifications on the GTO will make it have even MORE power... intake, exhaust, cams, suspention, S/C or Turbo setup. That thing would be a 700 HP monster, and relitively cheap to do too. Try to get 700hp out of a STI your going to be spending a small fortune... I know, been there done that.

oh well if i was adding it to my current vehicles, then i would buy the gto and have the wagon. i thought the gto handled very well too, and i like the interior, low key exterior, easy power upgrades(theres already 3 high hp s/c ones in the valley). some killer wheels, coilovers and you have a sporty/classy car that wont draw attention like the sti. if it was my only car then the sti would be the one for me. i wish subaru would give us the new sti forester dammit!
