F me and tires! well i had one repaired a few months ago at discountand it held air for a bit, but its not holding air for more than a day and is beyond fixing again...no biggie, well until tonight. now i have my other front tire with a huge piece of glass in the sidewall, which cannot be fixed either!!! also being awd, its iffy getting two new ones on the front because they have some pretty good wear on them. So, take the chance and replace 2, or get 4 new 451's in 225's this time(215's now). or get 4 new and try another tire....although im hooked on these falkens. although i wouldnt mind trying something even stickier, or shave the 451's. The real problem right now is, im flat f ing broke and wont be getting any tires until next week. :( whatcha think?

I know someone who has tested the Neovas and they aren't as good as the FK451's if you look at the bang for the buck factor. (not saying they aren't good...but they're overpriced IMHO)
Erin, do the 225/45/17's If the 2 good remaining 215/45/17 tires have decent wear left you can probably get a few bucks for them. Maybe $25-50 for the pair.

I always liked the MXs myself.
But I haven't run the 451s...
MXs don't wear incredibly well, but they offer a pretty serious amount of grip.
Whats the price diff?
I don't think you can go wrong with either MXs or 451's if they both come in your size. I'm pretty sure 451's are cheaper

Yeah, MXs are probably +$20 more.
I imagine they are a little more aggressive than the 451.
I like the looks of the MXs too...
How about KDs? heh

I LOOOOOOVE my Falken Azenis sports... there is a newer model out too, that are even stickier. They are amazing tires and even do decent in the little rain we get here in Phx.
Talk to Jeremy from Tire Masters (deer valley and I-17) 602-686-8322 And tell him Nick Hilton sent you.

yeah i love azenis but they run too big for the wagon...as it is, a smaller 225 will still probably rub in the rear. otherwise i would have already picked up some 615's. :D discount direct has 451's for $94, or $109 from discount...mx's are in the $134 range. i might try mx's this time for comparisons sake. it just sucks because the 451's werent great new, but with a little wear they really stick and handle.

well i had rich get me a set of yoko es100's...not the greatest tire but for $360 they'll do. from what i've read they wear out pretty quick, so they'll get me by for now cheap and then i'll get something much better after.

For the price I didnt think they were bad tires at all. My car came with Michelin Pilot Sport's stock, and at 237 a tire to replace, I went with the ES100's as replacements. For the price they are definitely a decent tire, stickier than the Michelins, maybe a little less road noise, and a bit softer sidewalls. For everyday driving they are not bad at all, but I wouldn't use them for any heavy 'performance driving'

well i have them on now, not bad really but i'd rather have the 451's. and as far as stiff, i would say these es100's are real stiff! man, i feel every bump now and the 451's have a stiff sidewall. i'll use them for awhile until i roll the rear fenders and get some real sticky 225's.

Temporary tires are teh SUCK... But if that is how it has to be it's better than not driving.
