We can do a dyno day at dynocomp if we have a min of 10 cars.....they provide pizza/bev. its $65 for awd, $55 2wd and another $10 if you want a/f ratios. you can also have tuning done, which would be last for additional $. Their dyno dynamics is a really nice, accurate piece..although #s will show much lower than a typical dyno jet.

I'd like to set this up for a time when i have my 240 over there for an alignment, then i can dyno that and my wrx on straight 100 octane to see any differences. Anyone interested?

Yes i am interested.

I would need tuning I'm sure...

I'm in :D
been looking into the MegaSquirt do-it-yourself ECU piggyback/replacement, looking really cool and it's mad cheap (around $175 for everything, if you can solder), and I'm seriously thinking about doing that soon, so a dyno day would be perfect :)

out of curiousity, what's the cost normally? Since if I do the ECU thing, a before/after comparison would kick some ass.

HELL yeahs! I'm in if we can do it once my car is out of the shop... let me know when we can do it so I can tell Robert @ Forced Air Technologies and lite a fire under his ass with a deadline! I'll need my new ECU tuned anyways (both of them)

wgnths
06-09-2005, 03:17 PM
yeah we could wait for your car i think...tell robert it must be done by this weekend

Hmmm... Well how about 1st or 2nd week in july?

Gonna be hot for dynoing, but what ya gonna do?

pickinicholas
06-13-2005, 09:40 AM

moxie
06-13-2005, 09:46 AM
So July 2nd?

Hows that work everyone?

wgnths
06-13-2005, 01:12 PM

It's looking like I'll have my car by then! They are starting to reassemble the motor again!

wgnths
06-13-2005, 02:20 PM
w00t! i'll have to talk to rich to find out when's good for him!

moxie
06-13-2005, 03:34 PM
I know Ben wanted to be able to do some tuning so see how Rich looks for the next little while.

I'd like to get the emanage in as well.

Maybe get a little extra out of the car...

wgnths
06-13-2005, 05:55 PM
yeah we should slap the pulley and emanage on first!

moxie
06-13-2005, 08:18 PM
Yay hacking the harness...

I'm really excited about that... LOL

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 06:26 AM
with the continuing brake problems, the ECU thing's prolly gonna be on hold for a while, so no tuning for me :) but I'll be more than happy to help out with hookin up the emanage, that actually sounds like it'll be fun to me, as long as you got all the wiring diagrams :) Definately wanna do a run though and just see what the car puts out. Shame someone never got me my boost controller for my birthday. lol

moxie
06-14-2005, 06:49 AM
damnit...

:)

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 08:18 AM
bitchass :P
I might be able to order the boost controller, get it together and hooked up pre-dyno though. The only problem is that July's shaping up to be a busy month again. first weekend is my sis' birthday, then the next weekend is the RCPM concert, and the next weekend I'm goin to laughlin. Soooo.. if possible, I'd prefer to go later, but if it's go soon or not at all, I'm all for going.

wgnths
06-14-2005, 09:53 AM
whats up with the brakes now!!!!!!!? should have bought a civic....

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 09:57 AM
haha yeah right...

Replaced the master brake cylinder, brakes worked awesome on my first test spin, 'cept after making a hard left, they'd go almost to the floor before they started to grab (have heard tales of bad wheel bearings causing that, where they'll slide out and push the pad into the piston, compressing it, so the first push really just sets it back in place). Figured wheel bearings would be the next logical step, but after driving it another day, I'm fairly certain air is getting into the system somehow too. I have to pump them at least 2-3 times to come to a full stop, and that's even with downshifting. So for now I'm just leaving lots of space between me and anyone in front of me, and trying to figure out what the hell it could be. any ideas?

We should teflon tape all the bleed valves maybe?

Where else can it be?

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 10:39 AM
That was actually my next thought, get some teflon tape or like loctite or something that'll seal it up real good and bleed them again, see if that won't make a difference.

wgnths
06-14-2005, 11:47 AM
can we do it before saturday? or not with school now? it would be good to have brakes on the cruise, no? :)

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 12:05 PM
brakes are for pansies!
but yeah, i was thinking of giving it a shot friday night, if at all possible, see what happens. failing all else, it's not like I have *no* brakes, just really bad ones :D so I just won't be whipping around corners as fast as you crazy guys with working cars.

wgnths

we could mount a tire to your front bumper and you can use the car in front of you to slow down.......

DangerViking
06-14-2005, 12:30 PM
as long as I can follow you, homeboy :)

pickinicholas
06-14-2005, 12:32 PM

Fixed it! All this talk about using the person in front of you to slow down and all... I thought it was fitting. :P

pickinicholas
06-16-2005, 11:58 AM

moxie
06-16-2005, 12:41 PM
I will remind him when we pickup the car today :)

wgnths
06-16-2005, 12:42 PM
yeah i dropped the car first thing this morning so i didnt have time to chat.

pickinicholas
06-22-2005, 08:08 AM
We need to get this thing figured out! My car will hopefully be out of the shop this week and I'll have him put the "break in" tune on and then hopefully I'll drive enough to get her all broken in before the Dyno Day so i can get my agressive tune.

Welcome... can't wait to see it! You have to host your pics on photo bucket or wherever and put the web address of them inbetween the tags...

wgnths
06-28-2005, 02:33 PM
yeah i use photobucket, its free to upload your pics. so how did you crash??

LaidbackRacr
06-28-2005, 03:05 PM
Drifting with a fellow Z'er and my rear tires were very bald. Good time to upgrade went with 19" Volk GTC gun metal with nice offset and new Exhaust

wgnths
06-28-2005, 05:53 PM
any car with 19" volks is required to post pics!!! sounds nice, the friend wasnt Brady was it?

06-29-2005, 07:18 AM
Na it was Tom Gavrillos...

Bad news, this morning on the way to work I hit a pot hole and got a bit of curb rash on my front passenger side tire :( Sad sad day. At least I know now must be EXTRA CAREFUL. I am going to do a little more modding this weekend and when I am done I will take the car out for pics. And will have my buddy through them up (Dave with Blue WRX)

Not THAT bad but bad enough for me to scream into the heavens ... WHY!!!!!!!!

wgnths
06-29-2005, 09:53 AM
19's are hard to protect because of the low sidewalls...i had some blingin 19's on my maxima and my fiance and i both took turns curbing the crap out of them  luckily my volks have survived so far.

wrx222
06-29-2005, 10:07 AM
I wouldn't try and auto-x on those, you'll destroy them, pick up someone's used stockers, just not enough sidewall to protect those rims.

Any updates on when this Dyno Day might be happening?

wgnths

06-30-2005, 04:23 PM
cool, hopefully i can get my turbo on before this happens  then i'll just get tuned right away.

wgnths
06-30-2005, 06:17 PM
your doing a 34 right? have you gotten the turbo yet!?

1bad_ej20
06-30-2005, 08:27 PM
yeah, i'm getting a vf34. Got it from Ryan over at Vivid Racing. It's his old turbo. Also have the STi Pinks, Walbro 255 and Easy street TMIC with Samco hosing. Should be fun!

I haven't gotten the turbo yet, but I've already paid for it. I can get the money back though, did you have something else in mind?

LaidbackRacr
06-30-2005, 08:41 PM
I am in for this for certain...I would like to compare before I do some more motor modding.
