So Friday I went and bought a 2005 A4 1.8T with pretty much every option except for the quattro and heated seats (which be honest, we don't need in AZ). I really wanted the quattro, but they are a lot harder to find used, and since this car will pretty much stay stock, I couldn't justify spending the extra money for it when traction shouldn't be a huge issue.

I already debadged it this weekend, and the only mods I really have planned are:
- Tint the windows
- Clear the corners
- Replace the front turn bulbs with the chrome ones that light up yellow
- Find some smoked side markers (as opposed to the clear it has now)
- Wheels (way down the road when the tires wear out)

Ha yeah, but it has a CVT, so it shifts alot nicer than a normal auto. I just need something that I can drive on a more regular basis in rush hour traffic. My tib wasn't fun to drive up the 101 every morning for 45 minutes.

Plus the gf can drive this, because she doesn't know how to drive stick.

Ooohh la laaaa! Nice ride man, you'd love that thing with a chip and TBE. The 1.8T has a solid tuning aftermarket and you could prolly get a lot of stuff on the cheap these days for that platform.

Yeah, unfortunately I think I am going to leave this pretty stock, other than a few cosmetic mods (clear corners, smoked side markers, debadged, etc). It's under warranty for 100k miles, and would probably like to keep that warranty inplace for as long as possible. My tib will still be my mod car for the most part.

On another note, does anyone know of a good place to get the windows tinted?

Ahh yeah, the warrenty will get used especially with something european. Still it's a nice ride none the less!

I had a friend looking at an S4 a long time ago, and the dealership on McDowell said if you had them chip it, it would not void the warranty (just in case you're interesterd).

For tint, I know me and a couple other people have dealt with AZ Mountain which is right next to Surge.

Thats good to know on both accounts. I bought it from the dealership on McDowell (Scottsdale Audi) although they are moving down to Chandler in a week or two (which might be why I got such a good deal on it - trying to unload inventory). I would like a chip and possibly to remove the cat (which is supposed to gain a good 20whp and 30-50 ft lbs torque), but on this car, i like my warranty (which even includes all maintenance till 60k).

I will have to check out that tint shop too. It's close to me which is definitely a plus.

nice choice and nice color! chip and exhaust, do it! you'll want to drive it more than the tibby.

Az mtn. does very good tint work, they did a nice job on my forester. Tell them Surge sent you and I believe they will give you a discount.
