Hey peoples,

SCO is having another event on June 25th at Firebird Raceway. This should be the biggest event we've ever had. It's gonna be a drift, drag and show event. Drag Racing all night, Car show for prizes, Drifting exibition performed by Bondurant Performance Driving School, and a bunch more. Here's a link for info http://www.sconights.com.

Hope to get a bunch of Subaru representation.

Didnt see many WRXs out there racing tonight. Maybe one blue one and a silver one. I didn't make it over to the show section at all, so I didnt get to check out any of your cars.

Mal, I saw you run a few times. Your car looks pretty strong.
There were a few wrx's out there. I saw like 5 run...

Yeah I had a few good runs, but then a bunch of shitty ones as well. I was trying to deal in my dual stage rev limiter, but I haven't quite mastered usign it correctly. Towards the last few runs, I got it down pretty well. I also was running on autox tires on the front, which are better than my stock michelins, but still not as helpful as if I would have had drag radials. I laid down a couple 14.8s, a bunch of 14.7s and one 14.6 (but also a 15, and 2 16's). I think once I get my new clutch, flywheel and LSD installed I should be pretty comfortably in the low 14's. Taking the stock flywheel from 27 lbs to 9lbs should make a pretty big difference as will the LSD when it comes to getting traction (haha none of you WRX guys have that problem I bet)

NO but most of the wrx guys had trouble launching...no surprise there

wgnths
06-26-2005, 03:25 PM
yeah we saw a stock blue wrx run a 17  very hard to launch in these things..also saw a 12 sec scooby though. we didnt put any cars in the show, wanted to check it out and see what was up....next one we will though, just for advertisement purposes. I heard Team V won a trophy for club participation, which is great but also very ghey considering 90% of their cars were basically stock  so i guess we could just round up like 30 cars off the street and enter into the club for a trophy  the next one in october, i think we'll do something with Surge to promote them and us. and we will be getting 9&3 shirts soon.

Thanks for coming out you guys. I didn't see you guys around though. I was freakin mad busy workin the event.

That silver Suby is my buddy James, he ran like high 12s. Over all I think it was a good night. Wish there were more Subys but they were all at the Pavs (like 20 of them).

Team V got the club participation because they did a lot to promote and prepare for the event. And they came out to the show at Action as well. Might seem a little bunk, but they do a lot of things you don't know about for us. They are always in close contact with us for anything we need them for.

you guys can give me any feedback that you would like to get to the event coordinators as far as what you liked and didn't like and I'll do what I can to make sure you guys get heard.

i wasnt badmouthing team v and i know exactly what they do.......i started that club  matter of fact, the 3 original founders are all here now. i just think having a bunch of stock cars in a show is weird. topnotch had less cars, but much nicer ones. i thought overall, the thing turned out great! i think the setup was better than nopi and much better than idrc. we had 6 or so cars out there, just not in the show. the next one, we will be participating as a club(remember this club is barely 3 months old). we will have a group of cars in the show  so, overall i thought you guys did a great job...except for the surprise $5 parking fee!!!!!

oh and the drifting demo was kinda weaksauce. they needed a better course layout. drifting in big circles doesnt really get the crowd going or show the difficulty involved. i think a better viewing area and letting some of the highly skilled locals get involved would be beneficial.

Hypercolor was da bomb! I wish I still had one of those shirts! It'd go well with my neon green shorts.

Thanks for the feedback man! I hear you about Team V, but to be honest SCO has a great relationship with them. Despite the stock cars, I still think they deserve the award. You should get in touch with our team over here and come to more of our events. Once our event guys get to know you better I'm sure you will feel more appreciated. I hear you about the parking though. I mean you guys could've just paid $2 more and parked in the show area. Come to think of it, that's probably what Team V did with the stock cars. I didn't find out about that until late friday, I'm gonna see what I can do about it (put it on the flyer if nothing else :x).

As far as the drifting, yeah it wasn't great, but not terrible either. I think it was a great start though. It was our first time doing that and I think there is tons of room for improvement, but it was still a pretty good thing. We'll definitely be working to expand that section of the event. Also, we're already talking the drift coordinator for NASA to see what we can put together.

Thanks for the feedback though! I'm definitely listening and appreciate your honesty.

oh yeah, dont get me wrong, the drifting was great for the first time! i guess im more of a critic because im a big drift fan...definetely a good start. it was by far the best sco event i've seen thus far.

Once our event guys get to know you better I'm sure you will feel more appreciated
Thats not really a concern of mine at all, this club was put together for completely different reasons than others, like team v. We're not really interested in show cars, this club came about because most of us were sick of the drama from other clubs and wanted something that was geared towards driving, participating in track events...just getting it back to being about the cars. im glad team v is participating again, trust me! that club was my baby and we did big things for awhile, but it died out, lack of particpation and i was looking for something new and different...

Heres a little useless history for you to read though! Besides myself, moxie and evil 8(the 3 original team v members), we also have kev, yeepee, gt-gasm, bphillips and veezy who were all team v originals back when we had southwest autoworks as a sponsor and then hp autoworks. All of us wanted a little something different this time, so we have plenty of experience in the club dept. i dont know if you remember my car, but i had the silver turbo spec with hp autoworks across it that i showed at a few sco nights(and won, thank you. :) ) So basically, this isnt a club for hanging out in shows and stuff, but seeing as how well the event was done i've decided to make an appearance with some cars for the next one. So, if you keep up the good work then you have our support for sure. :D

Thanks Erin,

I know exactly who you are. And Steve knows you well too. I know you used to be pretty cool with Jordan too (not sure what the status is on that). We never got to talk much back in the days but maybe i'll catch you out at some other events or meets or what ever.

Bryan, we should have the pics up within the next few days. I can probably get you the originals if you want. Let me know.
