I'm in to help, nothin serious planned so far :) takin the Trac to toyota and having them tell me what the goddamn piss hell is wrong with my brakes, other than that I'm completely open. never done headers or up pipe so it's something I'd like to learn anyway

The uppipe is like 1000x easier to do when you do the headers at the same time. Just make sure you get the header gaskets and uppipe gasket. The headers and uppipe have the gasket between the two, but not the ones inbetween the engine and headers and uppipe and turbo. And subaru has crappy service hours, so on Saturday they are closed I believe. I'd come and help, but I'm moving into my new house this weekend... bah, maby I can come anyways and use the holiday to move.

Ok, so I can use standard Suby gaskets for those parts?

Do I need to replace mine? I only have 450 miles or so on the car.

Not that it's a problem. Would just save me a trip to Pitre.

Come if you can. I would even help you move in exchange. :)

I'm going to try to come... About the gaskets, you COULD re-use them, but if they tear when you pull them off then you are S.O.L. so, I'd get them to be safe, yeah and they are the stock ones... the only one that isn't stock is the one between the header and the uppipe. but that gasket is with the header and uppipe.

Do you need any floor jacks? I have (2) 2ton floor jacks I can load up and bring.

Ok, I will make the call to Subaru Parts today.
Not having a gasket would suck ass...

An extra jack wouldn't hurt...
We have a nice one at Erin's but bring one more over just in case.

If anyone's got a dirtbike/ATV, I'm running up to Crown King Saturday morning. Should be hot and dusty but at least we may get turned around by fire.

Do we have anything we can do first thing?
Cause the car will be hot when I get over there

wgnths
06-29-2005, 01:34 PM
umm, i dont have anything other than steering rack bushings but i hear those are a pita so i probably wont do them. i do need to try and quiet down my f ing rear sway bar! im gonna get ramps, we can jack it up, drop it down on the ramps and redo the bar under load...otherwise, the car will take quite awhile to cool down! we could probably clay bar and wax it way before its cool enough.

I can give rides in my car and motivate you to get burns on your hands and arms by the uncontrollable urge to put the headers and exhaust on right away to find a smigit of the power I have... ;)

ok, so whos coming over tomorrow and what needs doing? bring a few tools if you have stuff to do, bring liquids so you dont melt in my driveway and what time will you be showing up?? cars need time to cool down if its motor related. if you want to wash or do some detailing for pics later, thats fine too. my crossroads are cooper/elliot in gilbert. 602 402-0367 for detailed directions.

I will be there... of course :)

Can you bring the parts then Nick?

I will bring drinks for all those helpin my dumb ass. or go to get them if need be.

Erin, I am probably gonna drop my car off at your house tonight so it will be ready to go in the morning. We will need to start on mine at like 9:00 I think.

ah good idea, drop the car right out front. my spec wont be moving :x those f ing cheap wheels we switched have THE smallest opening for lug nuts, EVER! my small spline nuts wont fit, went to discount and they couldnt believe it...said they could have some tues. checker and autozone no go too.

looks like we have an sti coming for headlight clearing as well. and if we get done in time for pics, then we need the cars sorta clean. :)
