Just picked up a 1971 Datzun 240Z and look forward on modifying the heck out of it. I have wanted one of these cars for the longest times. This is my 5th Nissan/Datsun/Infiniti that I have own. So far I have owned an Altima, Maxima, G35 Coupe 6mt, a 452hp 240sx and now this 240Z.

Here are some pics of the car and some plans that I have for the car.

Plans are to install an SR or RB26, not sure which route I am going to take but have been searching my options on hybridz.org and other forums. Seen that there are a lot options for this car. Going to be focusing on suspension, rims and brakes first, and then worry about the motor, and the rest of the drivetrain parts. Looking for a 300-500 whp DD car. Not sure why I want that much power on something DD, but with an RB it will be pretty easy to achieve those numbers. Here is a list of what the car has and TONS of pics that the guy gave me.

Car has an L28 Dual 71 SUs, 260z manifold

Header and 2.25 turbo exhaust, no cat.

83 280zx 5speed (shifts like hot knife in butter, even downshifting into 2nd).

NEW Porsche SPORT seats (from a 911 Turbo)

NEW 16x8 Wheels polished with black center wit 225/45/16 tires

No rust, no body damage....straight body

LED External lights (to reduce load on light switch)

MSA 3 spoke chrome leather steering and leather shift knob

Guy wanted $6500 for it, and I got it for $4k and I got appraised for $10k through my insurance. So if something happens to the car or something, I get $10k for it and it's registered as modern collectible so I don't have to worry about emissions. Woooohooo!
