View Full Version : My 03' 350Z (to continue to mod???)

I think this is going to be the order of my modding...

Valentine 1 = to guarantee I can continue paying for mods (and not tickets) $400
Blitz Front bumper - To go with rest of new body kit $800 + Paint
Seibon VT Carbon Fiber Hood $640
UR Pullies - More power $340
Crawford Plenum - Even more power $350

Total 2530 + Paint...or should I just save and hold on to the 2530? The inevitable question: To mod or not too mod...that is the question.

What are your thoughts?

As I already have:

Italian Body Kit on the Way (sides, rear bumper, wing)

Quartz 6.5, Infinity Perfect 10"s w/ custom Box

What do you want the car to do?

I have almost always upgraded the car in power and suspension stages until I hit those levels.

Then I move on to appearance mods.
So i'm usually not the best guy when it comes to this stuff.

Is the car fast enough for ya?
If it is then these appearance mods sound good.

Pics of the body kit would help me :)

Learning how to post pics would help me ;) I do have pics of the kit though it is still in Italy. The container wont be hear for a couple weeks.

I want to do appearance mods first and engine after, because the car is fast enough for me (kinda) and I am kinda on a appearance fix as my interior is allready looking sweet and sound system is done. Its time for engine or exterior...course once I finish exterior then I can focus solely on my Engine mods.

I also NEED to be saving for a house but I'm sick...and they don't have AA for my addiction. So do I continue to put every cent into my car or Stop cold turkey? hmmm, so many choices.

You could just put some money into the car.

The problem with cars is that you rarely wind up totally done and happy.

Once you have everything you think you want, you are almost guaranteed to want more. So if you spread out the modding it might keep you entertained for longer.

BTW I def do not practice this philosophy, but it is something to think about.

Should be a nice kit. I'd paint the mesh in the bumper black. I hate silver/obvious mesh on bodykits.

LaidbackRacr
07-06-2005, 03:45 PM
Thanks for the heads up I will paint the mesh on all 4 pieces black...will give a nice contrast and go nicely with my blacked out headlights.

Yeah I agree paint all mesh black. Hey how is round 2 of headlight baking going?

Finished Round 2 of the Headlights...I want to give a special thanks to Tony at Rics Auto Body he took 2 hours of his day to help me with my headlights so that they were done properly. I am bleeding on 4 fingers from doing it "properly" which sux but the lights look soooo bad ass. And as I am the only one I know thus far who has done this to them, i am oh so much more happy with the turn out.

I've wired a couple things in my life... as long as you have a printout of your wires or atleast your computer harnesses it shouldn't be too difficult. That and a voltage meter.

Love the Z, I plan on doing a few things to mine here real soon, but I wanted to ask you, I took my 03 in to brown and brown nissan here in mesa and told them about my issue with the front end, they found it was real bad tire feathering, luckily the extended tire warranty nissan issued I had the car fixed totally free, but I was wondering if you have had this issue, I know the 03's were the first years out so I think they get it the worst, the problem hasn't came back but I only have put about 2000 miles on the since it was fixed, also love your car, it looks really nice!!!!

thanks,

Tim

07-23-2005, 11:51 AM
Tire feathering has been an issue with the Z since day one :? Even the 05's seem to be mentioning it... There is an FSB about it (as far as I know) and Nissan does acknowledge the problem... THough they seldom fix it the first time around

Timmy_boy188
07-23-2005, 02:05 PM
so do you think if I get the problem again they will work with me since they know its a huge problem?

F-This
07-23-2005, 03:27 PM
They certainly should....

wgnths
07-23-2005, 05:48 PM
yeah i know chris has experienced the problem as well..nissan usually replaces the tires, which in no way fixes the problem  may want to have them check alignment?

Is it me, or is the passenger side exhaust tip focked up?? I dig the spoiler though...

LaidbackRacr
07-23-2005, 09:11 PM
Well I didn't buy his exhaust just the kit and I love the spoiler

Feathering yeah I had that prob had all tires replaced at 18k miles (they were bad) I changed my springs to RS*R TI2000 and didn't notice the issue at all and with my 19" Volk GTC's All is good. Springs seemed to help, though I don't know how because dealership didn't fix it they just changed tires. Aslo I had windows streaking and just took my car in last week to have that fixed (F'd up thing about that though is they wont replace the tint) As far as I know the 05's have feathering just the same as the 03's If you have any other questions or need a hookup inside the dealerships I have a couple good guys for servicing.

BTW I hope to see you at a couple meets, I am the minority here ;) Subi fo life :)

i had that issue with my rear windows in the wrx, made pitre replace them but they wouldnt replace the tint(which they did before i bought the car). they did give me a discount on new tint.
