I'm using Delo400 (yes, diesel oil) and once my engine has about 5-7k miles on it I'll add Lubro Moly to that as well. The subaru engines are Aluminum like most diesels are, it is the best at lubricating under heavy load as well. The Lubro Moly coats all of the moving parts in an engine so it is not metal on metal, there is a thin layer of the graphite compound stuff that acts as a barrier (kinda like a glove when raking so you don't get blisters). So that is my combo, I am going to change my tranny fluid soon with some Redline HD Shockproof (from Surge) and the rear diff oil as well.

That is a weird combo?
Where did you hear about that?
I was running Mobil1 in the SE-R, and I plan to do the same in the Rex...
Still debating on when to do the first change.

I've been running it for about a year and have had nothing but success.

Acording to the tech at Steven Jory Subaru, you shouldnt switch to synthetic til after 10-12k miles. He said that the aluminum parts in the Rex engine need that time to fully break in. I figure what the hell.. wont hurt to wait til then. So i used dino last week to change mine and will continue to for annother couple changes. Ive got about 3250miles on my car so far.

That seems to be the word around the campfire.
So I guess I will wait a bit... only having 1000 miles or so.

Erin,
Marion and Alberto both said that switching to a diff thermostat and Water + WaterWetter really helped with their knock.
We may want to try that.

Just kidding about the Jiffy Lube thing. My car responds best to astro-glide.

motul might have been one of them that people were blowing trannies with!!? i'll have to find that thread on nasioc again.

We may want to try that yes, we should do that. what thermostat? the crucial racing? lets do it now!

I did a bunch of searches on Nasioc on Motul and got nothing but good results, I read a bunch on Royal Purple causing problem, Redline seemed to work well for most but some still had problems, so I went with Motul cause I didn't find any horror stories about it, hope I didn't just miss something

I prefer KY.
I usually use Mobil non-synthetic. Tried Redline synthetic oil once and blew through 2qt in 3k miles.

Whew! I feel better did another search on Motul gear 300 75w-90, only bad thing I came up with is a few people said it sucks after a while, I've had it in my tranny and rear diff for about 8k miles now and haven't had any grinding and it still shifts smooth, so I'll probably stick with it, seems to work well for me :)

S2000: Mobil 1 10W30 oil, Mobil 1 75W90 for the diff, and honda MTF for the tranny
B14: Mobil 1 5W30 oil and Redline MT90 for the Tranny
Civic: the cheapest oil I can find

i think i'll be changing the tranny and diff fluid soon.....water wetter works great for washer fluid, really keeps my windsheild temps down.

I used the Valvoline dino 75/90for the gear/diffs every 10,000 miles and Amsoil 15/50 for motor oil in the summer. Then back to mobile1 10/30 in the cooler months. So far so good.

Redline for tranny stuff...Motul for brakes...Castrol full synthetic for engine....nothing for the rear...THAT'S AN EXIT, not an entrance...
