i think with my es100's, im running around 36frt, 34r on street......tried 40frt, 38r for autox and the car pushed hard in the corners, ended up with 38frt, 32r and it felt really good! had some good understeer action :) es100's are stiff tires.

With my Azenis Sports I run about 40f/40r... I'm tire pressure retarded... and one of my tires leaks so I have to get it fixed, in like two days it will be at around 5-10psi

with awd cars, you should really run a few psi less in the rear tires. i think the manual even suggests that.

RE92's Represent!
Street- 35f/35r
Auto-x- 42f/40r
Tried 40f/35r last auto-x and it didn't work so well, bottom line is the stockers need to go, Falken Rt-615's are in my near future, can't wait to try them out. :D

Sure Dave...is that your excuse, tire pressure?
Dave,
Try dropping them even lower. As Erin can attest, Tire Pressures can significantly change handling. There are 2 schools of thought to get rotation with tire pressures:
1) super low rear pressures: your tires will roll over due to a less stiff sidewall which causes rotation. I ran as low as 20 psi with r compounds on my FWD spec V, but the tires were EXTREMELY stiff. If you go this route, you need to make sure you don't roll over so far as to risk damage to your rims!
2) super high pressures: your contact patch will shrink just a little and your tire will have less grip.
When trying to find the right pressures for you, make sure you have a good gauge and an air compressor or air tank. I suggest against making 1-2 psi changes as it's really hard to notice a difference. When searching for the right pressures, make changes in 5psi increments. This should exagerate the effects of the TP change....and you dial it in from there.
eg: with erin we went from 40 --> 35 rear tire pressures. The car felt better, but we thought it could feel better. If I was familiar with the ES100's and not affraid of rolling over to the rim I'd have suggested we drop down to 30psi, but we went with 32 instead.
My suggestion for erin next time is to show up with 40F and 32R pressures. Prior to running he should mark his sidewalls with chalk, drywall, or anything. Then we can see how far his rears roll over. If it is not that bad, then I say we drop the rears down to 30 or as low as 28 :)
Keep experimenting until we find what we like.

sounds good, the es's have a very stiff sidewall but im not thrilled with handling characteristics..they dont seem to have the feel of the 451's. seemed like i had more feeling with them.

So when I start autoxing on my Azenis Sports could I go like 30psi cause the sidewalls are VERY stout?

I wouldn't
Those tires are stout, but you will still run high pressures.

Thanks for the advice Kev :D
If you wouldn't mind I may ask you to ride along with me next time? I definitly need help, my tires have about 30k miles on them and 3 auto-x's so they're not in the best shape plus as everyone knows the wrx stokers are not a performance tire by any means.
I'll definite ride along and offer advice. Just sign up for group c or d, because I like to run B or A at CAC.
