I'm not sure how much longer I will keep the S2000. At least through the end of this year I'm pretty sure. I'm seriously considering the following:
1) sell the S2000
2) Get Julie an Xb
3) take the b14 se-r from Julie
4) gsr swap into the hatch, full cage, suspension, etc = track/autox car
Thoughts?

I probably should have said why I am considering the change up.
I highly doubt that I will ever track my S2000 more than once if any. I really want to move into track racing, as a few guys at NASA are trying to get a time attack type of competition going. If I'm going to track a car, I want more protection than a convertible has to offer.
Also, it'd be fun to have a high 12 second/low 13 second car. I've never been into the 1/4 mile cuz I never had a car that was fast enough or could take the abuse.

so if you got rid of s2000 and built hatch ,what would you drive daily? the se-r and julie an xb? i think julie should get an xb anyways, but i love that s2000!!! just get a small cage and a hardtop for it!! you saw those s2000's killin everything on those vids saturday!!

Caged S2000's look weird with the top down. For the cost of the cage and a hardtop I can have the Civic built. The car will get beat to hell on the track, and the f20c powertrain is way more expensive to replace than a bseries motor/tranny.
For less than 1 year worth of S2000 expenses (payment, insurance, reg) I can completely build the hatch. As soon as (if) I start building up the hatch, it instantly becomes a garage queen as I won't have it getting stolen.
Never thought of the 240 codrive-deal :)
I'm just speculating for now because I got a fresh set of rubber in the garage. Julie wants to keep the S2000, she wants a Mini cooper S, and thinks I change my mind about cars more than a woman changes her mind. I told her she's wrong, because I change my mind more! Erin, you are rubbing off on me! (That's rubbing off on me...not rubbing one off on me) :P

and you can daily drive/autox your s2000 still :D
Looked at a GSR that had been totalled. The engine's compression wasn't great... 190-185-170-162 and it was making a weird noise under acceleration. It wouldn't have been good for a straight swap, cuz the short block probly needed some freshening. I'm not ready for that yet :(
Swap plans are going on hold for now :?

I say get a GC8 Impreza with a EJ20T swap... They are light, fast, and AWD forgiving

There was just a '93 miata from tucson on ebay... ended last week and didnt sell at $2850...
I'll keep my eyes peeled unless you want one of the three Spec Miata's in town! :D All right around $10k
It's pretty much sold. Just have to go through all the formalities.
I'm not going to boost the se-r. FWD turbo (sentra) won't handle well enough for my expectations. Plus the se-r is a perfect DD, so I won't do anything that will lower its reliability.
I want a great handling car with excellent power accross the band, and I don't want to be in a stock class. SC'ed Miata sounds like my next car.
The plan is to sit on my ass until I come accross a good deal. Until then, I'm going to be driving a badass black integra and maybe eunos' car a time or two :) I might buy some 13"s and race rubber to run the se-r for a little bit. Who knows? I love having options :)

What about a AE86? You can get decent power out of them with a little engine modding and have AWESOME handling and weight ratios... GREAT autocross cars. If you do a Late model (supercharged) MR2 swap they are really peppy, or you can go crazy with a SR20det swap or a RB25T swap. :) Possibilities are ENDLESS!!!! :D AAAANNNNNDDDDD You would be truely JDM then...

Compound charged, stroked, and on the bottle Miata = STILL Slower than Nick
Therefore:

power to weight on a s/c miata is pretty awesome really. 200+whp will get that car movin on the track and easily outhandle any of us.
kev said he didnt want a mazdaspeed. i think he wants something he can pay cash for and not have payments. no payments=more mods! :)

mazdaspeeds are still $20k+.......not worth it. you can pick up a nice 99ish for $10k or less. that leaves much more $ for modding.
Erin is in tune with my chaotic car decisions :)
