Nah we are both on the westside and BOTH broke as a Joke... It's actually best that I don't go and spend money tonight... But next week will be different. I'll be there fo sho!

Yeah... no offence, but I'm glad I decided not to go tonight... the westside was hit HARD with the storm and there was multiple road and freeway closures. And down t-bird where I live, you couldn't even see the streets, and that is no bueno for lowered cars. My buddy has a stock Mazda 6 and he turned around from leaving my house and said that not even 1/4 mile from my house there were 3-4 cars that were stalled in the middle of the road and one was a S-10 truck and the water was almost over his wheels.... Hmmmmm, I would have been up shit creek without a paddle.

I left the kilt at about 9:15... it was raining...

I took the 10 and it was a DOWNPOUR... but it was great! i havent seen rain like that since i left Chicago. Everyone had their hazzards on and were goin slow...but it wasnt THAT bad. I got to the 101 and the winds picked up hard. It was purely east to west cross wind, and was throwin my wagon all over the road. It was fun but a bit unnerving. The debris that was flyin round on the highway annoyed me the most. I got to Grand ave and the rain picked up more the further west i went. It was raining damn hard... wipers on full... but i was still cruising. Got to Dysart and the left lane was flooded. Turned onto Greenway and went WOT past a slow F'er and inadvertantly drenched his car in the wake of the lake i drove through. Turned into our neighborhood, and the wife called me to say that our street was a river. I laughed and said.. yea im driving in stuff like that right now.. little did i know what i was comin up to. I get to the stop sign right by the house and the road infront of me was flowing FAST and over the curbs. I told the wife to come out and check how deep it was :P. She happily obliged (she LOVES rain). It was about a foot deep, and i decided just to go for it since i wsa so close to home. I plowed through it with no effort. I even tested my braking in it and she stopped like a dream. PUlled into the garage and waited for the wife to come back... her first words? "I hate you" Because my car was able to make it through so easy, and cus i kicked water up hehe :D. I had a fun drive home. And a fun night. Got to meet Ryan but that was it... the other 2 guys that were with him didnt say much, and i didnt say much back LOLOL. I was at the table right next to them. I had 4 friends with me as well. By the time we left at 9 ish, it loked like more of you guys showed up. I was wearing my blue bugeye shirt. Ill be there on saturday though to do official meet and greets :P. Fun time.. fun time. We are probably goign to come out every other week.... weekly is just a bit too much $$ for our broke asses.

i didnt get there until 8:20 or so.......and it was f in pouring when i left, which would normally be fun but with a cai not so much. so i was crawling home, behind a motorcycle :lol: he looked not so happy. and you dont have to spend money to meet there. have a water or a soda, i just had one beer. its more about the peeps and the views. :D

Don't the CAI's have keep out the water? What is this about a bypass valve, please enlighten this confused one (me)

Bypass valves are for fast cars... i.e. turbocharged :) Same thing as a blow off valve but it recirculates the air.

CAI are definitely not as good as OEM intakes at keeping the water out but it still isn't bad. The APS keeps the filter pretty high but with the opening in the foglight cover, air/water has a pretty straight shot up there. So I tend to take it easy when it rains that much too (I hate dust storms the worst though).

That is why my intake is ontop of my engine... that'd be a huge puddle I'd have to go through to suck up enough water to hurt my engine.

Yeah, so I made it half way home (as the wind was blowing sheets of rain blindingly across the 10) only to get a call from Meg who was looing to be stranded in north phoenix. So I exited on 7th st and trudged through over 12" of water up to the 10 again (after she called and said the roads were closed). On to the 51 that was a freaking parking lot finally exited on Highland and went to meet her at 44th street, only to find out that her way there was shut down as well... Sat and waited for a half hour as she tried to maker her way around. Finally met up and meandered home... Made it through about 15" of water on 51st ave, before finally making it home at midnight :x
