STi is going bye-bye so here's some stuff for sale:
1) Stereo: Pioneer Premier 940 (with computer mounting kit), CDT CL61's front (with uninstalled imaging tweeters), CDT C6x's rear, Avionixx 400.2 (2 of them) and an Elemental Designs e10o.44 in a box. Comes with IA performance speaker mounts and a rear strut tower bar that has been "modified" to mount the subwoofer. Paid a bit over 2g's for everything. Selling for 700 but I need the stock Subaru stereo.
2) APS CAI - almost new. $160
3) Godspeed downpipe - this is the one with the o2 extension that makes it so your CEL doesn't show up. Also has a wbo2 bung with plug welded on. $250
4) STi Utec plus Tuner Pro with Bosch sensor. This includes 3 Kingpin maps and the knock sensor. $1100
5) Defi BF White Gauges with Carbon Creations angled Carbon center pod. Oil pressure, Boost, EGT. Includes the controller and all sensors. $650
Other stuff (make offer... all new):
Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings
Whiteline Rear Diff Bushings
Ebay knock off front strut tower bar.
Steering rack bushings eh? How much you looking to get for dem? I'll talk to you at the Kilt if your there tomorrow about them.

STi is alright, but the Evo just fits my bill better. Easier to make big power, better steering and handling and it's not gonna be my daily driver so I don't care about the little stuff that pushed me towards the STi in the first place (worse ride, no CC, ugly gauges).
There's a blue GSR that's calling my name :)

Saweeeet. 96 = Auto though... since you like doing swaps, a 6 speed swap is in order :)

Nah... no real need. I like the 5 speed better (plus I hear it's stronger) and it's sooo much more expensive.
Also not bothering to wait for the 9 cause there's nothing on it I want... actually, I'm guessing the Mivec system will be harder to mod and one of the best things about the 4g is super easy/cheap cam swaps
Only thing I lose with the GSR vs the MR/RS is the aluminum roof... which is very hard to overlook being the big nerd that I am. I'll just have to remove the headliner or something instead :)

Just wait until next month or so when the EVO9 comes out.

The 9 has nothing I want besides possibly the bumper. I'd rather get an 8 with the non-mivec heads and 2g's of rebates.

CDT's are a nice component set... lot of bang for your buck. If you look on sounddomain or a lot of the stereo websites, they're a good middle of the road set.
The amps are about the same... quality wise I'd put them at around an alpine v12 level... I was running both and they produced lots of power for the speakers and sub.
Elemental designs makes kick assed subs. Some of the better sound quality subs.
The deck was Pioneer's top of the line CD for a while. Has the large OEL display and a computer interface that allows you to change the background and put little movies on it.
Any other info you need, let me know. Also if you search online you'll hear about most of these brands. I did quite a bit of research when I bought this stuff. Course that's what unemployed engineers do with their time

Well i guess much like most of the tings for my car so far i have to buy a little at a time. We have next to no disposible income what so ever. I do plan on swapping out my stock stuff, but im not sure where to start. Probably speakers.... but im not sure. Will the components run without the amp for a while? or do they need to be powered that way?
Max Power
12-08-2005, 08:06 PM
They will but they're not going to sound appreciably better than the stock stuff. It would be better to amp those immediately anyways to avoid butchering the stock speaker wiring... when you run the amp you need to run your own wires up there so you can preserve all the stock stuff.
