So, I've never been one to go with Nitrous, I've always liked to do it right, but since I'm not doing anyperformance mods to this car until I save the money for my 1-off FAT turbo kit and everything, I was talking to a friend about possibly adding a 75 shot to boost performance if I ever need it (I don't street race, occifer). He says it's pretty safe as a wet shot, and it'll be setup to only come on at WOT.

So what are your guys experiences, thoughts, etc?

Is it a dry shot?

I don't know much about Nitrous but I wouldn't run a dry 75shot.
I don't imagine its that safe.

Wetshot though, that would be awesome. Spec Vs with a 75 shot and drag radials are in the 13s... Probably work well on the Scion with the 2.4 as well.

i'm no expert on NOS so don't take my word for it, but i think you should be okay with a 75 shot. If possible I would go wet. The best scenario is direct port, but even with a single nozzle fogger system you should be okay. Would definitely recommend a wet kit though. The problem with a dry kit is that the nitrous selinoid (kan't f'n speel) doesn't control the additional fuel, it relies on the ecu.

Thats why I would be worried :)

Can the ecu really add that much extra fuel?

it does sound a little scary. i would imagine the nozzle would have to be mounted pre-MAF sensor in order to calculate the proper amount of fuel, but i'm not sure about that. i can see if i can get more info.

Doesn't a wet shot act as a fuel as well? If thats the case wouldn't worry

yes, hence wet shot.....adds fuel and n02. i ran a nx 50 shot wet kit on my spec v and it was awesome. i used the msd rpm box so i could set it to spray at a certain rpm and shut off before redline, for safety.....which is a must!! 75 wet shot shouldnt be a problem with the tc, seeing the bottom end can handle much more power than the spec. if you go with nx, get the next gen kit with it(bottle warmer, purge, blow down tube etc).

Yeah... there's no effin way I'd do a dry shot. I believe the kit we were talking about was the NX one.

But things maybe going a different way. I'm actually talking to my bank about financing a 63 Continental, as it's what I've been wanting, and should have bought to begin with, but we'll see.

wgnths
08-12-2005, 08:21 PM
and getting rid of the tc? cause the 63 will make a lousy daily driver.

No... my girl is taking the tC. It's a good thing I don't drive too much, I guess.

The B

It's referred to as a 430, which is probably the 427, I guess. Since they refer to the 462 as a 460. Not sure.

I'm still waiting for a call from my bank, but I'm thinkin I'm not going to get it. I don't see the loan details on my credit union website anymore.

We'll see.

Update: Bank has approved me. Now I'm just waiting on the seller. I'm "HOPING" he pulls through! I have to go through my friend, as stated before, due to the language barrier. I knew I should have learned Spanish in school. Damn me for thinking the Germans would rule the world!

Shizen!

This sucks!! The number posted is bad, the guy says he's getting a ton of calls about it. Is there a way to look up the 61 lincolns registered in AZ and search that way? Damnit! I want this beech!

I think I scrapped the Continental idea. Just can't find the one I want. I think I'm going to get a 240 or 200sx SE-R, or sumpin.

I have 9500 to work with and need something nice and reliable, that has some potential. (Preferably something valued at 9500, that I can get for 7500 and keep the $2k to pay some ish off... {lawyer, perhaps?})

wgnths

reliable+240 dont go that well together  but, for that price you should be able to find something really nice. look on the az240sx.org. there was a couple really nice ones for sale.

Well... I couldn't find ish, and I ran out of time, so we went to Camelback VW, and leased an 06 Golf... base. no turbo, no nothin. Boring, but it'll be the woman's and I'm spent. I hate looking for cars.

So I guess it's back to my modding plans for the tC.
