hey now :P

i am GOING to replace that dp, but i just didnt know if this one was quality. I mean i was still looking at the crucial one for $300. So for half the price i didnt knwo if it was worht it. Id have to get it coated obviously... no biggie there, but then id be short yet annother cat..... hrmmmm.

Why do you need it coated? Coating post turbo is not very useful unless you're looking to keep underhood temps down a hair. Coating pre-turbo is necessary to get exhaust energy up.

What are you looking to do to your car? If you're not going to extreme then the HKS pipe is perfectly fine. Put the extra 150 towards an up-pipe or tune.

i already have a invidia uppie... its sitting on the floor next to my desk at home LOL. i was hoping to keep that cat though... but i guess the cost savings is worth it...... Im gonna have to send a PM on this one then :P

Cats are over rated. Put that 150 towards an Access Port... save up another 450 (get a salad instead of nachos at the Kilt ;)) and you'll be basking the Stage 2 awesomeness.

Dynocomp is a good way to go actually. its a set it and forget it solution. :)

AP is cheaper though, and the dyno should soon show the power difference if any

seems the folks (including you guys) ive talked to about the AP say its not a good idea in AZ. Though i will probably be moving in about a year back to Chicago :?

I have the AccessPort. It works awesomely well, I couldn't be happier :)

You need to watch it in the summer and run some octane booster, but thats the case with WRXs in general

grrrrrrr i thought i knew what to do :P well hopefully ill grab this pipe and then ill have my options open. Dynocomp can do custom tunes with the AP as well right?

Not yet, I don't think Rich has pro-tuner.
Not sure if he ever will.

We should be dynoing in the next few weeks, Bryan and I have similar mods so we can see if the the performance difference of the two.

Custom tune is always nice though....

so you use AP, and erin/nick are custom tuned reflashes?

I think the AP is the way to go for you. Dyno-comp is good but expensive. I really like the custom tune idea but if I had to do it again, I may have gone with the AP

The only concern I have about AP is I've heard it runs the car too lean, but who knows, you hear good and bad things about every product, and most people only post the bad

Exactly.
I find that most people just want to bitch...

We will have charts to post in the next few weeks.

I have been running the car with the AP Stg 2 for a while now and I never have any problems.

Hopefully with charts and AFR graphs we should know for sure :)

AP also has the ability to switch maps, so you could conceivably be tuned for pump gas and race gas and make the switch with the push of a button.
That is probably the biggest plus over EcuTek. Nick has to stop by DynoComp anytime he wants to flash over the race gas map.

There is no real perfrect solution, but don't discount the AP before you have talked to me and looked at my datalogs... oh yeah... you love the datalogs.
